CHARTER STANDARD

Maccabi Make the Standard

Leeds Maccabi FC recently joined the happy band of Clubs to achieve Charter Standard status and the West Riding FA's Football Development Officer, Polly Fildes, is pictured above presenting the award to Club Chairman Elliot Landy (left) and Jonny Jerome (centre)

Leeds Maccabi FC were founded just 10 years ago with a senior team but the club has grown at a rapid rate and now includes junior teams from u8 to u16 levels.

The junior teams play at Brodetsky School, Roundhay Park and Squirrell Way and currently play in the Harrogate and District League while the senior team are based at the Old Police Ground at Gledhow playing in the Leeds Combination League.

The club, which is made up mainly of players from the local Jewish community, is currently investigating plans to find and build their own facilities and, naturally, Charter Standard will go a long way to helping them achieve their ambitions.
