CHARTER STANDARD

Steeton FC

Steeton AFC became the latest West Riding club to gain Charter Standard accreditation from the Football Association. The award recognises clubs which maintain high standards of Coaching, First Aid, Child Protection and Fair Play.

Clubs Charter Standard Coordinator Kevin Knappy said, “When I joined the club committee last season I felt that we had most things in place already to enable us to meet the criteria set for the award. And with some additional work we would be able to go for it and gain recognition for the way the club is being run.
Last year we celebrated our centenary, launched our own website and only a few weeks ago launched our very first match day programme and this is yet another proud achievement for the club.”

Club stalwarts, David Baxter (president) and Albert Bates (secretary) said, “We are absolutely delighted with the news, which is a real boost for the club”.
