County's Nicola Copley presents Mark Standridge with the Charter Award

TADCASTER ALBION have joined the elite band of clubs who have achieved the FA's prestigous Charter Standard Community Club Award.

Having been one of the region's most famous senior clubs for well over 100 years the current Committee are determined to ensure the clubs continued existence for a long time to come and by adding the Community Award to their C.V they can now claim to be one of the best junior set ups in the area as well.

The Park Ground has been the clubs home since 1899, but since the introduction of junior teams in 1986 new pitches were acquired on nearby land

Today, the junior section comprises 11 teams, including u12 and u14 girls teams and, with the introduction of a Ladies Team, the club has continued to outgrow its playing space.

Junior Secretary Mark Batty shows County Football Development Officer, Nicola Copley, the newly acquired land on which 3 new pitches will soon be established
In order to ease the problem another tract of land has been leased on which the club plan to establish three more pitches at a cost of £16,000, all thanks to a magnificent effort by the Ladies Fund Raising Committee,

Community status requires a lot of hard work, but the clubs Charter Standard Officer, Mark Standridge, is pleased with the outcome.
"We've had to jump through a few hurdles to get here, but it's all worthwhile in the end.  Charter Standard is an excellent idea and shows to anyone coming to the club that we are run in a professional manner"
