CHARTER STANDARD

West Yorkshire League

The West Yorkshire League has become the first League in the West Riding County area where all member clubs have achieved Charter Standard status.

Inspired by support from the County FA, League Secretary Kevin Parkinson has been a major driving force behind the scheme which means that almost fifty adult clubs in the League are now running in accordance with the principles of Charter Standard.

Kevin is naturally delighted with the clubs efforts and said.
"Charter Standard provides a framework for clubs to improve the efficiency, facilities and to promote the development of its members.
"It is to the credit of every member club that they committed themselves to achieving the accreditation in a combined effort for the league to gain recognition of charter standard status.
"It is now a requirement that existing clubs retain the charter standard award and operate within its principles. In addition, any new club in application must submit evidence of possessing the charter standard award.

Nicola Copley

County Football Development Officer Nicola Copley said.
"The West Riding County FA would like to offer its congratulations to Kevin, The West Yorkshire Adult League and the individual clubs for achieving 100% Charter Standard Status.
"The County recognise the hard work and commitment that all the clubs have put into gaining 100% Charter Standard which shows that they are all committed to raising the standards of adult grassroots football.

"The West Yorkshire Adult league can now be confident that home or away are not only performing at a high standard but they are conducting themselves at an exceptionally high standard in every way.

Nicola added
"In recognition of this achievement we will be providing each club in the league with new match balls as a small token of our appreciation.”
