Club Development Programme

 
Introduction
* Since 1989 Deaf Football has steadily gone into decline in Yorkshire currently there are only 3 Clubs, Bradford, Leeds and Hull that could play in their local leagues. We are fortunate to have in our Region the Sports Academy – Doncaster College in partnership with Doncaster College for the Deaf
 
Where do we want to be ?
* The Yorkshire Deaf Football strategy aims to ensure that all deaf people have the opportunity to participate in football activities and are able to reach their potential within the area of activity they chose.  The following are the main themes of the strategy:

Establishment of competition structures
-    Development of a local inter club / schools competition / festival structure
-    Establishment of regular county / regional structure
-    Establishment of national structure

*

Improve the quality and administration available to deaf people
-    To develop coaches who are appropriately qualified and hold a Football Association coaching qualification
-    Mentoring scheme for deaf people to become football coaches, administrators and referees
-    Delivery of local / regional Coaching Disabled Footballers Courses and other local coaching courses to increase the number and quality of coaches and their knowledge disability specific initiatives and issues

Create performance pathways
-    Establish local talent identification programmes linking into The Football Association Disability strategy
-    Development of County Disability Squads
-    Establish long term athlete development programmes for disability football

*

Raise the profile and awareness of football for deaf people
-    Promotion of local themed campaigns
-    Devise appropriate promotional materials

*

Elite Performers
-    Support the Yorkshire County Coaching Centre
-    Establish a player tracking systems for talented deaf players aged 14-16.
-    Support and identify players for the England Deaf Squad

*

To support the delivery of this strategy and to produce more deaf players, better deaf players we are pleased to offer this Education programme to help raise standards within our coaches and clubs

 Coaching Adult Courses
 
This course is aimed at Coaches (minimum 17 years of age) who are responsible for running the adult 11-a-side section of the Club
The Course will improve and update the role of the Coach and Manager through Practical and Theory Sessions

 Funding Workshop
 
Via the Football Foundation Small Grants Scheme, funding of up to 90% is available for community based projects with costs of less than £10,000 and to groups who are supporting young people aged under 25 years, this workshop will provide guidance and support to applicants

 Football Fitness - Speed, Agility & Quickness
 
This interactive session will focus on the practical implementation of training methods that develop good movement skills as well as ‘multi-directional explosive speed, agility and quickness’.
