The Level 2 Certificate in the Treatment and Management of
Injury in Football is a vocationally-related qualification that
provides candidates with the basic knowledge and skills
necessary to enable them to manage injuries sustained in
Association Football.
It offers an opportunity for newcomers to this sector to
recognise and differentiate major from minor football injuries
and the ability to offer basic treatment and injury management
advice to a player who has sustained an injury when playing
football. This is achieved through an understanding and the
application of the underpinning knowledge of the National
Occupational Standards for Sports Therapy.
The
knowledge gained during the course will enable candidates to
develop an understanding of anatomy and kinesiology, the Code of
Ethics for Therapy, pathology and recognition of injuries, basic
treatment and management of injuries and injury prevention. The
skills acquired in the context of football may be transferable
to many field based team sports.
