Rural FootballKicks Off at Glusburn

The Craven Rural Football Initiative kicked off at Glusburn School in Wed 3rd May 2006.

The project links together Rebecca Walters, Craven School Sports Partnership Manager, Becky Gulliver, Rural Community Football Development
Officer and Factory 11, a Craven based sports development company.

Working with 36 primary schools across Craven and 5 football clubs, the project will 'hit' over 3,000 children with immediate effect.

The £30,000+ project, which provides schools and clubs with the innovative 'Soccer Factory' equipment, is  funded by Skipton Building Society, Roger Tiffany Ltd, Sportsmatch and the West Riding County FA.

WR County Football Development Officer, Andy Shuttleworth, was on hand to help the project get off to a flying start.

Teachers and coaches receive full training on how to use the equipment and access to a website of resources.  The website will be interactive, allowing the children to log on and access a variety of information.

Curriculum based sessions will lead to the Craven World Cup on Tuesday 20th June 2006 at Sandylands All Weather Pitch in Skipton.  Club sessions will be developed for the start of the 2006/07 season.
