KEIGHLEY SCHOOL ENJOYS DOUBLE VICTORY At Yorkshire's Euro 2004

Richard Caborn serves drinks to the Nessfield teams

Nessfield Primary Schools Girls and Boys teams won their respective competitions and Sports Minister, Richard Caborn was on hand to present the trophy's as the school represented both Croatia and Belgium at Yorkshire Water's Cool Schools tournament in Huddersfield

The event, which is supported by the West Riding County FA, promotes the company's "Cool Schools" initiative - which links the drinking of water to health and sport - followed the same format as the forthcoming Euro 2004 tournament.

Sixteen teams of ten and 11-year-olds represented a different nation taking part in the real 2004 tournament. A separate girls competition was also staged in the afternoon.
The aim of Cool Schools is to place mains-fed water coolers in every primary school in the region. Yorkshire Water provides the coolers free of charge with schools only asked to pay towards the installation and a maintenance contract. It also provides specially designed water bottles and a dance act, known as S-Cool, to go back into the school to encourage the children to drink water
All the players were given plenty of tap water throughout the day and were each supplied with a Cool Fuel water bottle to ensure they are able to keep hydrated at all times.

Yorkshire Water's Cool Schools Campaign Manager Jackie Abusin said: "The tournament was a huge success and highlighted the link between health, sport and hydration. All the players understood the importance of drinking water and even though it wasn't a particularly hot day they took full advantage of the tap water on offer, regularly filling their water bottles.

The Referee gives instructions

"Nessfield did brilliantly winning both the competitions. As a result they will get a water cooler for their school which I hope all the pupils will be able to benefit from."
