John still works at Leeds Utd and took time out to present Castleford Town
Juniors with their Charter Standard award. |
The club was formed in 1985 by Bill Clift, Albert Lee and Robin Leese who,
over the years, have carefully constructed one of the best organised clubs in the area |
Charter Standard was an inevitable step for a club which now
boasts 10 junior teams playing in the Charles Rice League and 1 open age
side in the Castleford Sunday League

Chairman of the club is Bill Clift who is rightly proud of the clubs
achievements...
"Charter
Standard was reasonably easy for us because we already had most of the basic
requirements in place before we applied"
Bill is full of praise for the hard working management team at the
club
"Albert Lee did most of the work in the early
days and now we have full compliment of managers and coaches to cater for
any young footballers in the area"
Secretary Ian Broadhead, who was largely responsible for getting the
club through Charter Standard, is confident of progressing even further
"Next year the club is adding a new under 12
girls team to the set up and we are hoping to become a Charter Community
Club in the near future"

Any parent looking for a quality club for their child to enjoy the
game of football may look no further than Castleford Town Juniors
