Wrenthorpe Rangers was founded by a small group of enthusiasts in
1997 and has since grown to include eleven teams from Under 7s to Under 18s.
The club is establishing a girls team and from next season will also include
a senior open-age side. There are now over 150 players registered with the
club.

The junior teams play in the Charles Rice League and are making their
mark on the competition, with several sides now having won their divisions
or achieved promotion in addition to a number of cup successes.

West Riding County Football Development
Officer Julie Chipchase presents Wrenthorpe with their Charter Development
Club Award.
The Development Award demonstrates the club's commitment to ensuring
all coaches are FA qualified, that child protection best practice is followed
and that the club provides routes for children to develop and improve.
The Award also recognises the links the club has forged with local
schools, and senior clubs, including Wakefield and Emley, where players regularly
play 5 a side games at half time. The club also provides ball boys at Leeds United
reserve team games played at Belle Vue.
This achievement reflects the hard work put in to develop the club by
all the volunteers who train and coach the children, the parents who devote time
to helping out on match days and behind the scenes, and of course the enthusiasm
and commitment of the players.

Benefits from Charter Standard include recognition of the club's
progress, FA training and development resources, and access to kit and equipment
grants. The club also hope that it will help support plans to develop a permanent home
for the club.
