MINOR CUP FINAL 7 MAY 04

  
     
  Harrogate FA retained the Minor Cup in a close 2-1 victory of the much improved Barkston Ash team  
Indeed, if Barkston Ash's finishing had mirrored their dominance in the first half , the game should have been over as a contest. 
  As so often happens in football, the missed chances came back to haunt Barkston as Harrogate came out more positive in the second half and as things became edgy through not scoring, defensive slip ups allowed Harrogate to snatch 2 goals.  
Barkston Ash finally got on the score sheet late in the game and even had three or four more good chances to level and take the match into extra time but Harrogate managed to hold on and lift the Cup for the second year running.
